The Ovarian Cancer Study continues with good participant repeats. The study has provided good results in detecting ovarian cancer in the early stages. If you would help this important study continue, please go to our "Ways to Support" page and make a donation.
March 27, 2010: TJWOCF joined other charities at the Heard Museum in McKinney for the "Take a Hike for the Community". Thanks to everyone who joined us for a day outdoors in nature! Thanks to The Heard for providing a great venue, refreshments, and activities.
Dec. 2007 TJWOCF Sponsors the Low-Risk Ovarian Cancer Study! We are excited to announce that TJWOCF is sponsoring U.T. Southwestern Hospital in the recruitment and processing of participants in the Low-Risk Ovarian Cancer Study that is running concurrently in five other sites. The study will be used to build a specimen bank to help find a way to detect ovarian cancer in the early stages. TJWOCF was asked by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2006 for assistance in expanding the study to North Texas. The professionals at U.T. Southwestern will work closely with the research team in Houston to maintain strict controls of the specimens required for the study. Tracy Jo was adamant about the fact that women are misdiagnosed until ovarian cancer is in the late stages, this study is one way we can fulfill our mission to find a way to detect ovarian cancer early when a woman will have a chance to survive.
